At Fictiv, we’re constantly looking for ways to make the manufacturing process more streamlined for our customers. In addition to our standard inspections using hand metrology for CNC machined parts, we’re happy to now offer advanced inspections using coordinate measuring machines (CMM) or laser scanners, for more accurate, consistent, and scalable quality verification.

Customers can identify specific dimensions they would like to be inspected through callouts on a 2D drawing uploaded to the Fictiv platform. CMM and laser scanners can measure GD&T, tight tolerances, or hard to reach features like undercuts.

These advanced inspection techniques are also ideal for high quantity orders, as it is more consistent and accurate to measure inspections for large quantities using CMM or laser scanners compared to hand metrology.

After you upload your 2D drawing to the Fictiv platform, with inspection requirements called out, our technology will intelligently route the quote for review by a Fictiv quoting engineer, which will be returned within 2 business hours.

We understand how important traceability is for our customers, which is why we’re also happy to provide material certifications and certificates of compliance (CoCs) upon request. CoCs are available for any part ordered on the Fictiv platform and material certifications are available for the following select materials:

  • 6061 Aluminum
  • 7075 Aluminum
  • 316 Stainless Steel
  • 304 Stainless Steel
  • 303 Stainless Steel
