About the Material

EPU 41 thumbnail graphic

EPU 41 is a production-scale elastomeric material that is especially well-suited for elastomeric lattices where high resiliency is needed. EPU 41 has higher resilience (energy return) and better retention of elastomeric properties than EPU 40 at temperatures > -10°C. It is comparable to commercial TPUs with a Shore A hardness of 70.

Living Hinge Design: How to Design a Living Hinge

A living hinge is a thin, flexible strip made from the same material as the connected parts, designed to let them bend or rotate without additional hardware. They are low-cost, easy to manufacture, and have little wear or friction involved in operation. But while the idea is simple, the execution can be more complicated. Living […]

3D Printing With TPU: A Practical Guide for Engineers and Product Designers

Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is a versatile material that bridges the gap between rigid plastics and soft rubbers in 3D printing. It’s flexible, durable, and strong, so parts made from it can bend, stretch, and absorb impact without breaking. TPU has become a go-to material for applications requiring both flexibility and strength. Typical applications include wearable […]
