We have a brand new uploader and it’s going to make your life a lot easier — promise.
Now, you can upload your files just once and get unlimited quotes for all variations of materials, colors, and production speeds.
To help you get started, here’s a step-by-step guide on how the process works:
If uploading a STEP or STP file, select the units you used to design the part. If uploading an STL file, pay special attention to what units you have selected in the export options. Adjust the black toggle switch on the screen to adjust the units.
You now have the option to either upload files through a popup browser, or drag and drop them as a group directly onto the uploader screen. Whichever way you choose to upload, just ensure that files are STEP, STP, or STL formats.
The page will automatically refresh when the parts are finished uploading to confirm we received the upload.
Note that STEP or STP files are preferred, but if you’re uploading in STL, check out this post, which outlines our recommended export settings by design software.
You’ll now see your parts listed on a screen with a status of ‘Processing’. After a few minutes, the parts will be active and you’re ready to make your selections.
If you’re not sure which material to select, you can also click on the ‘Compare Materials’ link, which provides a 3D viewer to better analyze your part, check dimensions, compare all material prices, and help you learn more about each material.
Once you’ve made your material, color and production speed settings, just click the ‘Cart’ button at the top of the screen and select ‘Checkout’. From there, fill out the required information to place your order and your parts are 24 – 48 hours away!
As always, we’re just a phone call away! If there’s something you can’t seem to find the answer to, feel free to email us at help@fictiv.com or give us a call @ (415) 580-2509.
