12.10.2020 Fictiv Updates
Peak season will last for two more weeks, so there will continue to be higher volumes from holiday shipments. Even with the higher volumes, we have seen minimal shipping delays as international carriers have managed this additional demand with more flights. Passenger flights to China continue to trend upward, providing additional capacity as well. These trends will continue to be stable after the US holiday season ends. On the horizon is the Chinese New Year, which will begin to affect production and international shipping lead times at the end of January. The Logistics team will keep you informed in the coming weeks as the impacts become clear.
Domestically, the COVID-19 pandemic has created record-breaking shipment volumes. As more people shop online to avoid crowds in stores, those numbers have grown even more. These shipping volumes are taxing logistics networks nationwide, leading to potential delays. In addition, local governments are also imposing health orders that can make it more restrictive to conduct normal businesses. The good news is that since freight carriers are categorized as an essential business, they are minimally affected by the changing situation. The Logistics team will continue to monitor the situation as new health orders come into effect. Domestic transit time remains at very healthy levels and the great majority of shipments are delivered on the promised date to customers.
Even though the transit times are stable, carrier capacity is still limited, so it is essential to order your parts with plenty of time. Remember to complete the customs information section when you place international shipments through Fictiv’s platform. Adding this information will reduce the chances that customs holds the cargo.
Domestically, we are seeing that carrier capacity constraints are slowing redelivery attempts. This means that that second delivery attempt may be more than one day after the first attempt. Track your shipment via the Fictiv platform and plan ahead to meet your delivery when it first arrives.
Fictiv is here to answer any questions you have and help you get the fastest shipping time possible, so do not hesitate to reach out to our Customer Success team via the chat system on the platform or at help@fictiv.com with any issues. We are committed to ensuring on-time delivery of your order so you can plan confidently!
